Transport Minister Joseph Vinsky claimed Transport and Communications Ministry proposes to fix equal price on train, plane and bus tickets. He told about that in the air of 5 Kanal commenting on issue on Ukrzaliznytza’s rise in prices for passenger traffic. “We made a decision to abolish rise in prices for train tickets in the day coach this year. As for price for tickets of compartment car and second-class sleeping carriage, we suggest to fix a free rate. It is the rate allowing to have equal price for train, bus and plane”, Minister told. At the same time, authorities will not make jump in prices, Ukrainskaya Pravda is citing him as saying. “We must assess a situation that was in 2008: Ukrzaliznytza had UAH 4 mn of damage from passenger traffic”, Joseph Vinsky reported. “It is approximately the budget of three regions. Ukrzaliznytza had damage because our tickets cost two - or threefold less than in Russia. In suburbs 70 percent of people do not pay money for tickets”, he explained.
