According to Sergey Dorofeyev, the head of department of marketing researches of holding Unitrade Group (UG), «the tridimentionality reached at the expense of points-optical filters, dividing pictures for different eyes on a colour component, is only interesting functional addition and partly marketing advantage». To remain competitive, manufacturers of plasma have started to master actively a segment of the market of TVs with a diagonal of 50 inches and above, and also to resort to technology 3D. Under forecasts of experts DisplaySearch, in 2008 the world market of plasma panels will be reached the maximum volume in $24 billion Among advantages of plasma by mister Dorofeyev marks higher contrast and the best colour rendition: «Plasma TVs are not presented in a segment of small diagonals, and the basic demand for flat panel TVs is focused on devices with a diagonal to 32 inches».
